Eustine & Future
Two hearts · one homeHow we met
We met in Norton in 2022, when Future was the Youth Chairperson and I was the Youth Secretary. We worked together for three years with no sign that he liked me—we were simply friends, more like brother and sister. I had completely “family-zoned” him.
At one point, I showed him my twelve-point list of qualities I wanted in a husband. He convinced me to remove almost five of them because, he said, they did not really matter—including “tall” and “funny.” I thought he was only helping me as a brother!
So when I heard that Future wanted to approach me for masofa, I was surprised. I still saw him as my brother. Even after I agreed to become his woman, it took me a while to stop calling him “Mukoma Future.” But eventually it happened—and the rest is history.
As told by EustineFrom Future's perspective
I first met her in Norton in 2022, when I was serving as the Zonal Youth Chairperson and she was the Zonal Youth Secretary. From the beginning, I admired her dedication to the things of God. Her faithfulness, especially in handling every cent of God’s money, stood out to me. She also challenged and inspired me in the area of giving to God.
For almost three years, I quietly admired her from afar. As we became closer, she would often come to me and say, “There is someone who wants to sofa me,” or, “I have been called to masofa.” I would calmly respond, “Oh, that’s good news. I’m praying for you.”
But yes, you guessed correctly. My private prayer was always, “Lord, please let this sofa pass! Nevertheless, not my will, but Yours be done.”
When I moved to the United States, I began to think that perhaps the opportunity had passed and that my hopes of being with her might never become a reality. But God works in mysterious and beautiful ways. What seemed impossible across the distance became part of His perfect plan.
And now, here we are. The rest is our beautiful history and the beginning of our forever.
